Hey Y'all! Man alive I have been busy today. I have been in the kitchen way more than I have ever cared to be. It all started at 5:30 AM... yes, AM. I sacrificed this morning to celebrate my man's birthday. I sent him off to work with a nice, warm omelette with cheese and ham. Needless to say, he was surprised. Realizing some of you are horrified that I do not get up and make breakfast for him every morning, I am almost ashamed to tell you that. Almost though... not quite. It's just not my thing folks. He doesn't care, so I don't worry about it. He's the kind of man that will fry up 5 eggs and reheat them every morning for breakfast. I just don't know how good I've got it do I? Back to cooking. Later, little man and I headed for the dreadful Wal-Mart. It was rough. I literally think I go into panic attacks just being in that store. I don't know what it is about it, but I just don't like being in there. For dinner, I made country style steak for the first time... can you believe it? It's hubby's fave dinner. As sides we had cream style corn, fresh green beans, and rice. And I simultaneously cooked all of this. Y'all just don't understand. This does not happen at my house ever... unless my mother-in-law is here. Which they did come into town this evening and she may have guided me along the way with the country style steak. I really think I heard my stove crying because she rarely works so hard. This is sad I know, but oh so true. And for dessert... aahhh.... upside down german chocolate cake. Yummy! It was all so yummy tonight. Of course, by the time I actually sat down to eat, I really wasn't that hungry, but it was still yummy. And, to add to the kitchen time, I had to clean the kitchen before I could start cooking. Isn't that awful. My kitchen had not been cleaned up in 4 days I think. I lost track in the crazyness of this week. Probably more than any of you wanted to know... but hey, it's real.
Here's little man after dessert.
I think he liked it!
Well, it's time to say goodnight to a busy day. But a great day. A great day of celebrating the love of my life. My best friend. Happy birthday baby!
My baby is amazing. The meals were awesome! The ham and cheese omelette actually had two kinds of cheese and was so tasty as I ate it going to work.
ReplyDeleteThe country style steak dinner was even more incredible. I definitely ate too much.
We are still working the upside german chocolate cake. It is like a taste of heaven, but it is so rich, I can only handle a couple of bites at a time. It is almost gone though.
Baby, I love you. You gave me such a wonderful day from the meals to the gift to, most of all, your amazing love. You are the best wife ever. I love you sweetheart!!!
